Servings: 1 Simmer Pot
Ingredients Equipment Method Notes

Ingredients

  • 1 small apple, sliced
  • 1 medium orange, sliced
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tsp whole cloves
  • 1/2 tsp whole allspice berries
  • 4-6 cups water

Equipment

  • 1 Medium Saucepan

Method

  1. Place the apple, orange, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and allspice berries in a medium saucepan.
  2. Add enough water to cover the ingredients.
  3. Bring to a gentle simmer, then reduce the heat to low.
  4. Simmer uncovered for 1–3 hours. Check regularly and add water before the level gets low. Turn off the stove whenever you leave the kitchen.

Notes

Notes: Clean apple and orange peels can replace the sliced fruit. This simmer pot is for home fragrance, not for eating or canning.
A reminder while it simmers: Check the water level often and add more before the pot gets low. Set a one-hour timer as a reminder to check it, and turn off the stove whenever you leave the room. Never leave the simmer pot unattended.
