Legacy is often misunderstood as something o leave behind when you’re gone. But a better way to think about it is through the image of fog.
When you’re standing in a thick fog, you can only see a short distance ahead. Life often feels that way. We don’t know all the outcomes of our conversations, prayers, or acts of kindness. We can’t see how God is using them.
Yet ever step we take leaves a path through the fog.

A kind word spoken to a hurting friend. A child taught to pray. A meal delivered during a difficult season. A life lived with integrity when no one is watching. At the time, these moments may seem small and quickly swallowed by the midst. But over time, they become guideposts for others.
Legacy is the trail you clear through the fog so those who come behind you can find their way more easily.

You may never see where that path ultimately leads. The fog prevents that. But God sees the entire landscape. He takes or faithful steps and uses them to direct future generations.
A Christian legacy is not about making your name visible through the fog. It is about helping others see Christ more clearly through it.
So when the fog settles around your life and you can’t see very far ahead, remember this:
Legacy isn’t built by seeing the whole journey.
It’s built by taking faithful steps that create a path for others to follow.
