Sharky Smash Cake!

04/06/2025 by Sherri

Another grandbaby, another smash cake made by Grandma—this time with a shark theme!

I may not be a professional baker, but I am fully committed to making a smash cake for each one of my grandchildren because love doesn’t have to be perfect to be meaningful. This little shark cake was filled with frosting, sprinkles, and a whole lot of excitement as we celebrated my grandson turning one.

There is something so special about these first birthdays. Tiny hands digging into icing, wide-eyed curiosity, messy smiles, and moments that become memories before you even realize it. And honestly, the imperfections are part of the charm. The uneven frosting, the last-minute decorating decisions, and the chaos of trying to get a one-year-old interested in a cake instead of the decorations around him—it all becomes part of the story.

This shark-themed smash cake may not belong in a bakery window, but it belongs in our family story, and that makes it perfect to me.

“Children are a heritage from the Lord…” — Psalm 127:3

One more smash cake made with love. One more sweet memory added to the collection.
