There is something wonderfully unexpected about coming across a tree with eyes, a nose, and bright lips smiling back at you.
What was once just part of the background suddenly feels full of personality and life. A simple tree becomes playful, expressive, and impossible to walk past without smiling. It reminds me how little it sometimes takes to bring joy into the ordinary—a touch of creativity, a sense of humor, and the willingness to see things differently.
I think we lose something when we stop noticing playful things. Life can become so focused on schedules, responsibilities, and seriousness that we forget how healing it is to simply laugh at something delightfully unnecessary.
And honestly, this tree feels like a reminder that not everything beautiful has to be profound. Some things are meant simply to make us smile.
“A cheerful heart is good medicine…” — Proverbs 17:22
Maybe that’s why I loved this so much. Because for a moment, an ordinary tree became a tiny piece of joy standing quietly in the middle of the day, reminding everyone who passed by not to take life quite so seriously.
